Oh, California.

Today was a great day on the California Central Coast.

We started our day in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  It was sunny and beautiful without a speck of fog, which isn't always the case in the summer.  I am absolutely convinced that there is no prettier place in the world than Carmel.  We spent some time on the beach -- until the wind blew down our umbrella a zillion times and the-way-too-tame squirrels tried to eat our lunch.

We then walked around the town for a little while and then headed inland to Gizdich Ranch.

On our way to Gizdich Ranch, we stopped for deep fried artichokes.  Divine!

At Gizditch Ranch we ate apricot and blackberry pie and picked two buckets full of strawberries.

Oh, how I love California!

After staring at the photo of the pie I went onto the G Ranch website and they have a lot of recipes, some of which sounded like they were desserts you would make, especially the chocolate biscuit strawberry shortcakes. Yum!

CA is wonderful in the summer, particularly where you are.
