87 glorious days.

The girls have chosen "We're gonna do it all." as our summer theme.  (They came up with this after hearing a Phineas and Ferb song about summer vacation.)  I may just have to make t-shirts for the occasion.  I really think I am as excited about summer as they are.

Maybe more excited.

I have lists of day trips and vacations.  I have charts of things they need to do so they don't forget everything they learned in 2nd Grade  I have a carefully mapped out calendar of camps and festivals and other events.

We live in a place where warm weather is fleeting, and there is a lot we want to cram into those few short months!  So we're ready to go!

On another related note, I really loved doing the 365 Day project -- take and post one photo per day for a year -- even though I didn't always successfully get a photo posted each day.  I thought it would be fun to do an abbreviated version just for the 87 days of summer.  It's a more manageable period of time and the girls are home so I have something to photograph.

We'll see how it goes!

  1. 87 DAZE Days!!! But really who is counting? Ha! Kristi, would love to see a list of what you are planning to do this summer.

  2. Oh that sounds like a total blast!! I seriously love reading your blog it's quite awesome!! We love Summer here too!! :P

  3. Great picture! Pure joy.
Will you please share your summer plans? Unstructured time is my enemy. I am seriously so easily distracted.
    Happy summer to you all!

Super idea - I look forward to following along! This day 1 photo if priceless!

We're so excited for summer this year, too! Last summer was a blur, with a trip to China in mid-July . . . all the planning and packing before hand, and then the blur of the first weeks at home with a baby afterward. So this summer, time to slow down and savor each day!

    1. You're going to have an amazing summer! We traveled in July too and I remember that first full summer home.
