If you've never been to Northwestern Montana, add it to your list of "Places You Really Should Visit Someday."

It really is amazingly beautiful and amazingly unpopulated. When we were driving in to Montana from Idaho, we came up over a ridge and Eric remarked, "Now I can breathe."
Montana has that effect on you.
Today we poked around downtown Big Fork and the girls swam in the lake.

We had an afternoon thunderstorm blow through and after dinner we went to see "Guys and Dolls" at the Big Fork Summer Playhouse.
Tomorrow is the Big Fork Festival of the Arts and then tomorrow afternoon we're off to the lake where Eric's parents have a cabin. All three of Eric's brothers will be there and the girls will have three of their cousins to play with, which they're very excited about.
And I'm excited to sit by the lake and read the four books I brought!
Just catching up here. Sorry to hear about the hotel reservation debacle but it sounds like you made lemonade out of lemons (or at least chocolate chip pancakes!)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful and relaxing place to vacation. Enjoy!!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Your post definitely makes me want to visit that area. Glad your trip worked out and it sounds like the girls took it in stride and made fun out of it.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! Bigfork is my MOST favorite town, ever!!! We have spent many a summer night in that town, and love, love, love it. Look forward to following the rest of the trip!
