This morning we drove from West Yellowstone to Mammoth Hot Springs. We saw elk, bison and lots of steaming-boiling-water-spewing-sulfur-smelling geysers.
When we came upon this bison I really, really wanted to get out of the car and get closer. Eric wisely reminded me that bison run 30 miles per hour and regularly charge park visitors.
I still wanted to get closer.
But didn't.
After lunch we drove out Yellowstone's north entrance and then headed up to Montana's Seeley-Swan mountains and the lake where Eric's parents have a cabin. Two of Eric’s three brothers are here, as well as three of our nephews. We'll be here for a week, which just never seems long enough.
