The girls and I are in California for a week vacationing with my good friend Cara and her youngest son, Brennan. We're at the beach, in Cambria, right now but will be heading South later in the week to see a Mouse, some princesses and a hollow of fairies -- something the girls have no idea we're doing.

This morning after breakfast we walked through the gardens at our hotel and then headed to the beach.

We first stopped at North Beach to see the elephant seals. The smell of hundreds of seals molting on the beach is simply overwhelming -- and I don't mean that in a good way. I tried my best to breathe through my mouth until I realized that I could taste the seal smell, which was much worse than just smelling the seal smell.

We ended our day back at the beach, at Laughing Wells Landing, where the girls ran in the waves and tried jumping off the rocks like Brennan.

A truly great day all the way around.
How nice is that! :)
