Yesterday is the eighth day in a row that at least one of us has been sick.
I decided that even though we were home sick we were going to do things that did not involve couch-sitting or TV-watching. It just seemed that a little productivity was in order.
So we painted fuzz-covered dogs that came in a craft kit. The girls turned their collective noses up at the provided shades of brown and black -- or any color that a dog would actually be -- and instead Michal chose to paint her dog pink and Kenna chose to paint hers yellow. We dressed the dogs in marabou feathers, sparkly skirts and pink leopard fur Mary Janes -- with sparkles of course.

While waiting for all this crafty-goodness to dry, I put out Easter decorations.

I then tried valiantly to end Michal and Kenna's sickness-induced hunger strike with a tea party. I even pulled out real china, made foods shaped like hearts and tried bribing them with a half of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie if they ate what I served them. Michal made a menu for the occasion and listed the beverage choices: milk, water and tea -- in "fancy letters." Curious George joined us and we let him sit on the table.

My timing on all of this was exceptionally bad because yesterday was the day that I finally succumbed to the swirling tornado of germs that has filled the house for the past week.
Yesterday I would have liked nothing more than to simply sit on the couch.
Today that's where I hope to spend the majority of my day.
Battling the "bug" at our house too! Your photos are gorgeous! Hope you are all feeling better soon!

ReplyDeleteWe all just got over the flu at our house. Hopefully the weather wil be warm enough soon that we can open the windows and air all the bad germs out! I hope you are able to lounge around today and get some rest!

Fever, pneumonia, upper respiratory infection and pink eye...so I hear ya! I am not a fan of antibiotics but she has spent most of this month on them! UGH! It is so exhausting and boring too. i admire your creativity with the fuzzy dogs:) They are very fancy nancy!
