Celebrating the Year of the Ox

Tonight we went to a great Chinese New Year celebration! We had good food, watched lovely dance performances, enjoyed the company of good friends and welcomed the new year.

This is the kids all waiting to feed the lion hung bao. It was so funny because they all screamed as soon as the lion got close to them . . . and then they ran after him . . . only to turn and run away screaming again.

Kenna told me that playing the cymbals was her very favorite part of the night. The cymbals belonged to the Lion Dancers.

And this would be the moment that the "fanciest pink dress ever" succumbed to endless dancing and ripped up the side.

Michal is in the head of the dragon and Kenna is the body.
