Here today. Gone tomorrow.

Today the girls and I took the peanut-butter-and-bird-seed-covered pine cones they made in Arizona outside and hung them up. We ended up hanging them on a garden hook because I thought that way the birds would have a better chance of finding them before the squirrels did.

The next morning the pine cones were gone. Oddly, the gold ribbons were left behind. There wasn't a single seed on the ground or any sign of either pine cone. The girls are positive that a bird carried them away but unless we have some pretty big birds visiting our backyard, I'm fairly sure a squirrel found them. It was probably a very happy day for that squirrel.

Michal is in brown and Kenna is in hot pink.
