Didn't we tell you that we don't take naps anymore?

Several months ago the girls decided they were no longer going to take a nap. They unfortunately didn't consult me about their decision!

At first they were content to still lay down in their crib with a pile of books and read for an hour or so, but not any more. "Nap time" now means "jump-like-crazy-in-your-crib-while-singing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs time." Not exactly what I had in mind.

So this morning, at 5:30 a.m., Kenna woke up. Luckily, she normally sleeps until a more reasonable hour but for some unknown reason she decided to rise with the sun -- and wake Michal in the process. So, when I went in to get her, I was greeted by not one, but two awake babies. Let me just interject here that I am not an early-morning person. I can pull an all-nighter with the best of them but I am positively useless early in the morning.

It was a really long morning so I was holding out hope that they would both forget their "we don't take naps" decision and take one out of pure exhaustion. Kenna actually fell asleep in her high chair during lunch but when it came to nap time all they would do was jump. By 3:00 p.m. they were both so tired that they were bumping into things. So, I put them back in bed and, unbelievably they fell asleep!
