Gotcha Day Eve

Today we left Beijing and flew to Guangzhou. We really loved Beijing and felt like we were on vacation the entire time we were there so I was a little sad to go.

I hope we'll return some day with the girls so they can experience Beijing like we did.

This evening, after checking in and unpacking some of our stuff, we walked around Shamian Island -- where the White Swan Hotel and US Consulate are -- to get acclimated. We went inside a restaurant -- just to look! -- and there were tubs and aquariums filled with all sorts of fish, bugs, snakes and other creatures that you pick out to have prepared and served to you for dinner. I guess you're absolutely sure it's fresh when you order that way!

When we walked into our room at the White Swan Hotel there was a little wooden crib sitting beside the bed. Eric went and asked for a second one and seeing them both sitting there really makes this all seem real.

We learned today that we will get the babies at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. We leave the hotel at 2:15 p.m. to go to the Civil Affairs Office where they will be waiting for us. I'll post pictures when we're back at the hotel so you should be able to see the girls when you wake up tomorrow morning!
